The attorney

Meet Beau Correll

Beau Correll founded the firm in 2009 to give injured Virginians a lawyer who actually picks up the phone. A Super Lawyers-rated attorney, he has recovered results from the hundreds of thousands into the millions for people hurt in crashes across Winchester and the Shenandoah Valley. When you call, a real person answers, and your case stays with a local Virginia firm, not a lead broker in another state. Beau’s work has been featured on NBC, CBS, CNN, BBC, and Vice News.

You pay nothing unless we win.

We work on a contingency fee, so we only get paid if we recover money for you. That means you can talk to a lawyer now without worrying about a bill later, and put your energy into getting better while we handle the rest.

*Our fee is a percentage of any recovery. You may be responsible for case costs and expenses, which are typically deducted from any recovery. Contingency fees are not available in all types of cases.

After a pedestrian crash

What to do after a pedestrian accident in Virginia.

  • Get medical care first. Pedestrians have no protection in a crash, and serious injuries can surface hours or days later.
  • Get the police report and the driver’s information, including the report number and insurance details.
  • Photograph the scene, the crosswalk, the signals, and any skid marks, and get names and numbers from witnesses.
  • Do not accept a quick insurance offer or give a recorded statement before you talk with a lawyer.
  • Know the contributory-negligence trap. Virginia is one of the few states where, if the insurer pins even 1% of the fault on you, you can recover nothing. They will argue you “darted out” or “jaywalked” to zero out your claim, which is exactly why early legal help matters.

This is general information, not legal advice about your specific situation.

Questions injured people ask.

How much does it cost to talk to you?+

Nothing. The call and the case review are free, and there is no fee unless we win. Our fee is a percentage of any recovery, and case costs may apply and are typically deducted from any recovery.

The driver says I wasn’t in the crosswalk. Can I still recover?+

Possibly. Drivers who “didn’t see you” can still be at fault, and where you were standing is only part of the picture. Virginia’s rules are strict, so let us look at exactly what happened before you assume the driver is off the hook.

How long do I have to file in Virginia?+

Virginia sets deadlines for injury claims, and they can be shorter than people expect. Calling early helps protect the evidence and your rights. We will walk you through the specifics for your situation.

What if the driver who hit me fled the scene?+

You may still have a path to recovery, often through your own uninsured-motorist coverage. Call us and we will help you figure out where a recovery could come from, even in a hit-and-run.

What areas do you serve?+

We represent injured people across the Shenandoah Valley, including Winchester, Frederick, Clarke, Warren and Front Royal, Shenandoah, Page, Rappahannock, Rockingham and Harrisonburg. Our office is in Winchester, and consultations can happen in person, by phone, or by video.
