Hybrid Litigation Attorney | Winchester, VA | $130,000–$160,000 + performance bonus

Correll Law Firm, PC is a plaintiffs' personal injury and medical malpractice firm in Virginia's Northern Shenandoah Valley. We represent everyday people against powerful insurance companies, and we try cases. The 2026 Inc. 5000 ranked us No. 789, which puts us as the fastest-growing personal injury firm in Virginia.

We're growing and hiring a Hybrid Litigation Attorney.

The Role

This is a litigation seat, not a settlement desk. You'll carry a docket of serious injury cases through discovery, depositions, motions and trial, working directly with our team. The role is mostly remote. You'll be in person for the Monday team meeting, depositions and court appearances across the Shenandoah Valley, so you need to live within about an hour of Winchester.

What You'll Do

  • Manage litigated personal injury and medical malpractice cases from suit through resolution or verdict
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, treating physicians and experts
  • Draft and argue motions, including demurrers, summary judgment, motions in limine and motions to compel
  • Work through medical records to build liability, causation and damages
  • Prepare cases for trial: witness outlines, jury instructions, trial briefs and exhibits
  • Take part in case valuation and settlement strategy
  • Keep current on Virginia case law, the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Rules of Evidence

Required

  • J.D. and an active Virginia license in good standing
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience, plaintiff or defense
  • Deposition experience
  • Able to litigate in federal court
  • Strong persuasive writing and accurate citations
  • Ability to run your own deadlines and caseload
  • Live within about 60 minutes of Winchester and be able to attend depositions, court and the Monday meeting in person

Preferred

  • First- or second-chair trial experience; federal court experience
  • Insurance defense or insurer staff-counsel experience (you know how the other side values cases)
  • Medical malpractice or complex personal injury experience
  • Comfort with cloud-based case management software

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $130,000–$160,000, depending on experience
  • Performance bonus tied to case results
  • Full benefits and PTO starting on day one

Why Work With Us

  • Defense counsel and insurers take our cases seriously because we prepare every one for trial.
  • Our clients are injured people whose lives change with the outcome.
  • This is a boutique litigation firm, not a settlement mill.
  • There's a clear path to more trial work and responsibility as we grow.
